ASHLAND, Ky. — Gospel night should be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13 in the beginning Christian Church, 1930 Winchester Ave. This experience is a component of Ashland neighborhood and Technical school's free Black historical past Month community classes.
At Gospel night, choirs and individual singers from African American churches all the way through the Tri-State will sing the songs that have impressed generations of americans. From humble beginnings as Negro spirituals, the sound and spirit of black gospel track has develop into a profound drive in American music and subculture.
This year's performers are from Christ Temple Church in Ashland, First Baptist Church in Burlington, and Mt. Olive Baptist Church and New Jerusalem Christian core, both in Ironton.
Following the performances, refreshments could be served, supplied by means of Mary's Kitchen Catering.
