Gastonia metropolis leaders these days recognized longtime Gaston Gazette and Shelby megastar gospel tune columnist Jack Kimbro for his contributions to the area's faith communities.
Kimbro, who turns 86 in November, has written almost 1,250 columns for The Gaston Gazette and The Shelby big name during the last 24 years. Kimbro announced in August he would cease writing his column, a favorite for those that not most effective appreciate gospel tune, but also those who received encouragement from Kimbro's humor and wit.
Gastonia metropolis Council determined Kimbro deserved some awareness for his work.
